Based in Prees near Whitchurch, Fourways Self Drive (FSD), a division of Fourways Vehicle Solutions, provides petrol and diesel cars, light commercial vehicles, transit vans and mini buses to corporate and retail customers. Originally established to supply the brokerage side of the company which sources rental vehicles UK wide for corporate customers, FSD has found a niche in the market having identified only a handful of self drive service providers in the local area.  

Commenting on their success, Andy Williams, Customer Services Manager at FSD said: “Our aim is to provide an exceptional service with additional extras such as delivery and collection or pick-up and drop-off for rural customers, Christmas, bank holiday and weekend deals, winter car kits and the option of a portable sat-nav hire planned for early in 2008. The response from customers has been very positive and not only are they coming back we’ve had 50 new bookings in the last two months alone, including one from a lady in Switzerland who, requiring a car to visit relatives over here during the festive period, found our details on the internet and made a reservation online at www.fvsd.co.uk.  I’d like to thank our many local customers for their valued and ongoing support which is much appreciated.”  

Although most of their customers are located in the Whitchurch, Market Drayton and north Shropshire area, bookings are now being taken from Telford, Wrexham and south Cheshire. One regular business using FSD is Alternative Meats Ltd in Wem. Owner, Jeanette Edgar said: “We have been using Fourways Self Drive from when they were first established and we discovered them on our doorstep!  Their service is second to none, the vehicles are always spotlessly clean and ready to go, and even if we ask at the very last minute, we know they will pull out the stops to provide whatever we require.”
